Using my remote on the Upside Down Show

Since I moved into my apartment … that’s right ladies and gentlemen I have moved in, I have a bit more time on my hands. I don’t have to get up as early because I can walk to work, and I don’t need to really spend as much time rushing to get ready because I don’t have a train to catch. So I have really got into some early morning TV viewing. No, not Mel and Kochie, not the Today Show … I am talking kids TV. More specifically The Upside Down Show. As an aside, before I delve into the world of the Umbillical Brothers, I have always loved kids tv … not a cool thing to say if you are a grown up … but at 7 in the morning you don’t want to hear about people dying, the world dying, animals dying etc. etc. so I am loving the fact that I wake up and laugh! What a great way to start the day.

So The Upside Down Show. It was created by the Umbillical Brothers (David and Shane). If you don’t know who they are … have you been living under a rock? So if you know anything about them, you can imagine what this show is like. My opinion of kids shows (unless it’s a kidrama or an animation) are that the adults tend to talk to the kids (watching) as if they are stupid. I find it really patronising. They put on a really high pitched voice, and talk really slowly. David and Shane have cleverly made themselves to be the slightly silly ones, the kids of the show. Coupled with their physical comedy it makes for a great early morning show, while I’m eating my Frosties. I love it.
