Using my remote on the Upside Down Show

Since I moved into my apartment … that’s right ladies and gentlemen I have moved in, I have a bit more time on my hands. I don’t have to get up as early because I can walk to work, and I don’t need to really spend as much time rushing to get ready because I don’t have a train to catch. So I have really got into some early morning TV viewing. No, not Mel and Kochie, not the Today Show … I am talking kids TV. More specifically The Upside Down Show. As an aside, before I delve into the world of the Umbillical Brothers, I have always loved kids tv … not a cool thing to say if you are a grown up … but at 7 in the morning you don’t want to hear about people dying, the world dying, animals dying etc. etc. so I am loving the fact that I wake up and laugh! What a great way to start the day.

So The Upside Down Show. It was created by the Umbillical Brothers (David and Shane). If you don’t know who they are … have you been living under a rock? So if you know anything about them, you can imagine what this show is like. My opinion of kids shows (unless it’s a kidrama or an animation) are that the adults tend to talk to the kids (watching) as if they are stupid. I find it really patronising. They put on a really high pitched voice, and talk really slowly. David and Shane have cleverly made themselves to be the slightly silly ones, the kids of the show. Coupled with their physical comedy it makes for a great early morning show, while I’m eating my Frosties. I love it.

So you think you can dance? Maybe not..but I’ll give it a go

A little while ago I blogged about a guilty pleasure of mine (Midsomer Murders), and I need to confess that my second one is *sigh..hanging head* So you think you can dance. I know, I know it’s reality TV the lowest of low. But at least this show is actually about doing something you are good at! I think it appeals to me because I used to dance when I was younger, and when you’re little you tend to try a whole load of different things, and don’t tend to stick to them. I live my dancing life vicariously through them.

And in fact, it’s dances like the below that make me want to start dancing again:

So I have decided to take it up (Hip Hop mainly) at Dancekool. It’s funny going through the process of trying to find a dance school, there aren’t many out there that specialise in Hip Hop. And I wanted to real deal. So we’ll see how it goes eh? I’ll blog about my progress because it is an actual course, not just open classes. Hopefully I can bring it!
